I use Mailchimp for https://rogovoy.me
I keep it really simple. I created a blank minimalistic template and I use their UI to compose the email. (I write it in my notes first).
The allow you to track opens and click, but I turned that off because (a) I respect people’s privacy and (b) I don’t really care how many people read my stuff. 😊
