Is there a way to forward an old Twitter handle to a new one? [SOLVED]

I switched from @wbepodcast to @wbetiago and want old tags to still work…

To my knowledge, there isn’t. But maybe others know better.

maybe you can (not yet probably) register another account with the old handle and make it kind of redirect (via description pointing to it) to your new one.

Great idea Benedikt. I have done that

@wbetiago is cool

so, I was already following @wbetiago, because you renamed the previous one. I’m following also @wbepodcast now

What do you mean?

Why are you following both?

should I unfollow one of them?

Haha. Well the wbepodcast is deprecated. But I was just wondering if it was a bug from Twitter or smth that followed my old account

Create a new account with the old handle. It’s ok, Twitter will automatically assign old tweets to both the old and new handles

I renamed mine and it works fine

So was it not necessary to create a new account with the hold handle? Would Twitter still forward the tweets?

writen by Tiago Ferreira

You still need to create a new account with the old handle. There is no ‘forwarding’.

But you will be notified if someone reply to your old tweets (from old handle) for example

Tweets get redirected, yes. But not the handle. so it’s good you registered it
